A/Prof. Chris Daly

BSc. MBBS MPhil PhD FRACS

Born in Brisbane, Chris completed undergraduate studies, medical school and initial postgraduate studies at the University of Queensland. His first five years as a doctor were spent living and working on the Gold Coast. He then undertook advanced neurosurgical training in leading centres throughout Australia prior to completing his Spine Surgery Fellowship in Canada. He has since returned to life on the Gold Coast, where he has now established the Neurospine Centre.

Chris is a Gold Coast neurosurgeon and spine surgeon specialising in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery with advanced training in the care of brain, spine and peripheral nerve conditions.

 

Training

Chris completed advanced neurosurgical training in leading neurosurgical centres throughout Australia obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Neurosurgery). During his neurosurgical training he completed a PhD at Monash University investigating adult stem cells in the treatment of lumbar degenerative disease. He maintains an active and ongoing role in the research community presenting at international conferences, publishing in leading academic journals, teaching and conducting clinical research at Gold Coast University Hospital and as an Associate Professor at Griffith University School of Medicine. 

Professional Experience

After completing neurosurgical training in Australia, Chris undertook the prestigious Vancouver Combined Neurosurgical and Orthopaedic Spine Fellowship in Vancouver, Canada. He worked with world-leading neurosurgical and orthopaedic spine surgeons, providing him a balanced, holistic perspective in the management of spine conditions. He is an active member of the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia, AOSpine  and Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. He provides patients comprehensive, personalised, world class treatment.

We consult and operate at Gold Coast Private Hospital and Gold Coast University Hospital. We consult privately insured, Veteran Affairs and third-party insured patients and those involved in workers compensation claims at Gold Coast Private Hospital. We consult public patients at the Gold Coast University Hospital.
